Once I started digging around on the internet, looking for such places to stay in Myrtle Beach, I came across the Avista Resort (through their website at http://avistaresort.com). It seems ideal for a family group like ours because rather than just hotel rooms, this resort features condominiums of various sizes to accommodate different-sized groups. The resort is located right on North Myrtle Beach, with gorgeous views of the ocean from most accommodations.
Avista Resort offers a huge variety of golf courses to play on in addition to a lazy river, indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs (all in addition to the attractive beach). The golf courses are quite tempting given the gorgeous weather in Myrtle beach pretty much throughout the year, and the amazing variety and quality of golf courses Avista Resort offers its guests access to.
I also did some research on independent web sites offering travel-related services and reviews. I found that most Myrtle Beach hotel reviews about Avista Resort were quite positive. You can book a stay at the Avista Resort either directly through their own site or by going through independent travel web-site such as Expedia.
Among the many resorts in Myrtle Beach, Avista Resort is definitely worth a serious look. The property is spectacular, and the amenities are luxurious. Every condominium room at the resort features kitchens with refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, and microwave ovens. They also offer free local phone calls and free cable/satellite TV in every room. Every condo also features balconies to enjoy the gorgeous scenery from. With so much to do and see just inside the room, maybe I will even forget about enjoying the restaurants, shops, golf courses, nature preserves, and the beach this resort has to offer! Or maybe, I will plan a longer vacation to take it all in . . .

Hey, if you like Avista, you should take a look at Dunes Village, http://www.dunesvillage.com/. We stayed there last year and it was great. MB has a new boardwalk now and it's supposed to be great.
Thank you for the recommendation. I will certainly take a look at Dunes Village also.
